Why We Disney!
Updated: Oct 31, 2019
We are a Disney-loving family, plain and simple! We don't try to hide it or deny it! Over the years, we have gotten raised eyebrows and chuckles when people find out we are making yet another trip to Disney! "Umm, didn't you just get back from there??" Well, yes, we probably did, but we love it so much we want to share with you why we are thrilled every time we get to go back...and we go back a lot!
5 Reasons We Love Disney!
No. 5 - The Food
Walt Disney World® Resort has almost 300 food locations, which means something good awaits even the most selective eaters! The choices range from a quick snack at a grab-and-go food cart to the signature dining experience prepared by one of the many award-winning chefs. One of our must have snacks every time we visit is, of course, the famous Pineapple DOLE Whip®. You have the option of a cup of sweet soft serve (with or without vanilla), a delightful pineapple float, or the ever-popular Pineapple Upside Down Cake topped with DOLE Whip®. While enjoying the different snacks is fun, a recent trip provided us with the opportunity to sample several signature dining options. Located in Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, The Yachtsman Steakhouse left nothing to be desired, except maybe some Spandex and nap! The meal was absolutely mouthwatering and you shouldn't leave until you've tried it! No matter what makes your palate sing, you simply cannot go wrong with any of options Walt Disney World® Resort as to offer!
No. 4 - The Resorts Walt Disney World® Resort has over 30 resort options! They are categorized as Value, Moderate, and Deluxe, with Deluxe also offering Villa options. We have had the pleasure to try 11 of the resorts and we have added trying them ALL to our bucket list! We have to hit our go-to resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, especially if we are taking multiple trips throughout the year or there isn’t a great promotion available at the Moderate or Deluxe level. Each resort is uniquely-themed and whether it’s the dining options, the wall art or the pool, the theming stays true to the name of the resort and can be surprisingly immersive. One of our favorite things to do is resort hop! Many people do this on a day they don’t have a ticket for the park or when they have elected to take a “rest day.” While resort hopping, you have many different dining options, you may explore the shops, look for Hidden Mickey’s, hop on the ferry, friendship boat, monorail, or skyliner. Don't forget to check out the seasonal décor all around the resort property.

No. 3 - Customer Service
All employees of the Walt Disney World® Resort hold the title of Cast Members, or CM’s, and they make the "Disney Difference" a reality! Their number one priority is to give the customer a “Magical” experience! In all of our trips, we have never met a Cast Member that wasn't welcoming, friendly, and completely accommodating. We think the CM's get just as big of a kick out of the magic as we do, such as drawing us pictures, admiring our buttons, wishing us a happy birthday, sprinkling pixie dust on us to improve a not so "practically perfect" day, and just taking a minute to stop and have a conversation with us. The Cast Members have always made us feel special, so we always like to reciprocate the magic by calling them by name, striking up a conversation about their day or their experience working with Disney, and of course always being as courteous as you would want someone to treat you at your job. We all know that Florida is famous for being humid and scorching, family members can go from Happy to Grumpy in a split second, and things may not always go as planned, but somehow being at Walt Disney World® Resort make these incidences much more tolerable than when they happen at home! Your experience is as good as you allow it to be, so why not enjoy being treated like a prince, princess, or a superhero for the day? We love the customer experience and confidently put the “Disney Difference" up against any other hotels and parks!
Below is an example of a wonderful experience with several Cast Members of a Friendship Boat crew leaving Epcot. Disney transportation cards are free collectables that you can ask for while on Disney's boats, buses, and monorail. This crew didn't have any transportation cards available, so they decided to draw us a picture! They kept us laughing after a long day by playfully pondering whose art skills might make the cut.
No. 2 - The MAGIC
Ok, call me corny if you wanna', but the moment we enter Magic Kingdom® Park we are instantly transported to "A Whole New World." By design, you can't see Cinderella Castle from the entrance, that is how Walt wanted it! As you walk through the main gate and then through the entrance tunnel to Main Street, U.S.A.®, all of your senses are overwhelmed with the sights, smells, and sounds! There are so many things to take in and appreciate, but most of the time the first time visitor will rush straight to get their picture taken in front of Cinderella Castle. Doing this makes them miss all the details that tell the story of the iconic Main Street, U.S.A.®! We have also been guilty of doing this in the past, but no more! We now love to stop and read the "credits" in windows of the buildings' upper floors, admire the unique architecture, and just imagine what it would be like to walk down the streets of our local town during the early 20th century...especially if the prices would also step back in time and we could get treats and souvenirs for a nickel in the shops! Diving in to the history and behind-the-scenes info is fun and always adds a little more magic to our trip!
No. 1 - There is something for EVERYONE!
We are often asked what is the perfect time to visit Walt Disney World® Resort? Our opinion across the board is always going to be "TOMORROW"!! Whether you are a newlywed, new parent, or grandparent, there is something for EVERYONE at Walt Disney World® Resort. We are often asked what the perfect age is to take a child to Walt Disney World® Resort for the first time. We often hear parents say they would like to wait until their child can remember the trip, but even though your child or grandchild may not remember the first time they see Cinderella Castle or their favorite character...YOU will never forget it! As parents, we will never forget the look on our son's face as it lit up when he saw Bear from "Bear in the Big Blue House" come out on stage as bubbles drifted down from the ceiling. It was a perfect mixture of disbelief, amazement, sheer joy, and MAGIC! Since then, magical moments have shifted from seeing favorite characters to thrill rides, trying new foods, marking another resort off our bucket list, and new behind the scenes information we learn each time we visit! We have visited Walt Disney World® Resort numerous times and still have not touched on everything it has to offer. We never tire of seeing or doing something new at each visit and I hope we continue to explore the parks together until I eventually get to see those looks of awe and wonder on my grandchildren's faces!
